WHAT IS A STUDENT LEADER?

The Student Leadership Team will be comprised of high school juniors and seniors who desire to serve in a leadership capacity during RENEW Camp. Being involved in leadership is an opportunity and a commitment. Students interested in applying should have attended Renew Camp at least once before. While Student Leaders do not have the same level of responsibility as the Adult Team Leaders, their support is critical to the success of the week.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STUDENT LEADER?

Leadership - Students should desire to make an impact on their peers and the community by being a clear leader.

Service - Students will engage in additional responsibilities of cleaning, set up, tear down, and other extra tasks leading up to camp and throughout the week. The expectations will not be unrealistic or overwhelming.

Passion - Students should be enthusiastic in their support of RENEW Camp, their local church, and youth ministry.

Accountability - Students should understand that there is a greater expectation of leaders. This impacts the way students will carry themselves throughout the camp.

Student Leaders are expected to help set up camp for a few hours the Saturday prior to camp, to arrive early on Sunday to help with the registration process and to stay later on Friday to help with final clean-up. Exact times will be communicated to the Student Leadership Team closer to camp.

HOW DO I BECOME A STUDENT LEADER?

Students interested in joining the Student Leadership Team for Renew Camp  should fill out the designated application and submit it their local Youth Pastor/Director who is attending Renew. Names of approved applicants will be passed along to the Renew Director Team (along with the accompanying completed applications).
