Renew camp

an overnight camp experience like nothing else

Renew Camp is a week-long, inter-denominational, discipleship camp for rising/current high school students from Harrisonburg City & Rockingham/Augusta Counties. Campers spend their days serving our community in a variety of ways, with all of the participating churches united together. At night, evening worship services are held with engaging music, a relevant message, and an opportunity for students to grow deeper. Also, there are fun (often off-site) activities planned for each evening!  Throughout the week, our over-arching goal and desire is to honor Christ and see His renewal in our campers, volunteers, churches, and community.

HOW DID RENEW CAMP BEGIN?

In the spring of 2010, God gave a few of us a vision to bring RENEWAL to our local community through the united efforts of churches in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham/Augusta Areas .  Mission trips to other parts of the county and world are faith-building and exciting, but we found ourselves asking: Shouldn’t we be starting at home?  What if we created a “space” where youth could participate in an entry level missions/service opportunity without significant expense or risk?  In August 2010, Renew was born and plans for a camp began to take shape...

What began as a vision became a reality in 2011, when middle and high school students came together to serve during our very first camp session. While serving around the world is very important, Renew strives to teach future generations that service begins in our own communities.
